Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club

Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club Honored

Founded in 1975, the Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club has recently been honored by the promotion of Grand Master Ron Bastien to Regent and Grand Master. This new level is equivalent to a 9th degree black belt, which is the highest rank one can achieve in Tae Kwon-Do. This promotion was bestowed on him by the Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club Board of Regents and endorsed by independent martial arts programs, locally and internationally.

In addition, Grand Master Bastien was invited and accepted a World Wide Ambassadorship from Donald Gauthier -- Kyoshi, 8th Degree Black Belt, Goju Ryu KarateDo & 7th Degree Black Belt, Tae Kwon-Do, Chil-Dan. Director of the Gakusei BudoYudansha Renmei. The Federation's ultimate goal is to include all traditional martial arts organizations under our umbrella of friendship, honor, trust, and mutual respect.

This is an outstanding honor and privilege for both organizations. Also, the Federation appointed fifteen of Regent Ron Bastien's 5th through 7th Degree Grand Master instructors to the Gakusei BudoYudansha Renmei National Grading Board for the United States of America; Grand Master Eileen Bastien, Grand Master Greg Baran, Grand Master Darrell Stam, Grand Master Daryl Hazel, Grand Master Kerry Crouse , Grand Master Keith LaFrance, Grand Master Dana DeFreitas, Grand Master Robert McGorty, Master Carl Lingard, Master Susan Peters, Master Rachel Amato, Master John Amato, Master Don Rota, Master Carl Girouard, and Master Earl Witt . This is the only martial arts school to be honored in this manner in over two hundred years, from the studies we have made to date. As part of this honor, Regent and Grand Master Ron Bastien has received a special seal which has been applied to the certificate of each Master who's been approved and promoted. Currently, in the world, there are only twenty masters, 5th through 8th degree with this seal on their certificates. Whoever claims that they have been trained by Regent and Grand Master instructor Ron Bastien, past or present, must have this new Regent's seal and updated credentials on their certificates.

Our club spans several locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We have 400 students, eighty black belts, and seventeen (including Regent Ron Bastien) which hold their Grand Master's and Master Instruction levels in Tae Kwon-Do. Our club is family-oriented. We encourage parents and guardians to participate with their children in non-contact Tae Kwon-Do. An important aspect of the club's philosophy is that Tae Kwon-Do be taught to perpetuate the style, and for the love of the art, not solely to make a profit.

Regent Ron Bastien has over 61 years of martial arts experience and is the Headmaster of the Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club. His philosophy is that martial arts is "a life long journey, a pathway that will always be a major part of my life". To learn more about the Tae Kwon-Do Karate Club, please visit www.tkdkc.org.
